Whenever a major crisis or disaster happens, people want to get involved. They want to respond, help and reach out, but often are unable to because they do not know where to begin. They are looking for a place to volunteer where their skills will be needed.

Unfortunately, finding places to volunteer can be hard. Crisis response situations can be very complicated and there is a need for properly trained people who understand the protocols and the needs presented. This site is dedicated to helping find quality organizations that respond to crisis situations.

"I believe one of the greatest ways to impact a community is by building relationships."

While every disaster is unique and creates its own special needs, the core of The Salvation Army's disaster program consists of several basic services. And while these services address many of the typical needs of a disaster survivor, Salvation Army disaster relief is also flexible.

Convoy of Hope was founded in 1994 by the Donaldson family. Their inspiration for starting the organization can be traced back to the many people who helped their family after their father, Harold, was killed by a drunk driver in 1969. Today, more than 80 million people have been served throughout the world by Convoy of Hope. We are proud that we work through churches, businesses, government agencies and other nonprofits to provide help and hope to those who are impoverished, hungry and hurting..
